Celebrate Nurses Week – Thank a Nurse
Posted by donna@healthlawcenterplc.com in May, 2019
Each year we celebrate nurses for all they do for their patients and communities. International Nurses Day is celebrated on May 12, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. In the United States, we celebrate National Nurses Week from May 6 – to 12 in honor of nurses nationwide.
Please take the time to thank a nurse because:
- Nurses Improve Lives
- Nurses Advocate for Their Patients
- Nurses Educate Patients and Families About Medical Conditions, Procedures and Treatments
- Nurses Empower Patients, Guiding Them Toward Healthy Behaviors and Support Them in Time of Need
- Nurses, When the Time Comes, Provide Dignity in Death
Nurses are special people, with special talents and skills. There is no higher calling than being the first person to welcome a newborn into this world by gently holding her in your arms, and tenderly holding a hand when a man leaves this world. It is an honor and privilege to be the first and last to witness the beginning and end of life.
Thank a nurse during National Nurses Week.
