Breaking News: President Obama Extends Mandate for Employers With 50-99 Full Time Equivalent Employees

On February 10, 2014 the Obama administration announced the delay of the employer mandate for business with 50-99 full time equivalent employees until January 2016 (affects 50% of employers). Employers with 100 or more full time equivalent employees are still required to offer affordable health insurance to workers by January 1, 2015 or pay a penalty. Those employers with less than 50 full time equivalent employees are not obligated, but may, provide health coverage to their workers.
